Langtang Valley Trek

Trip Information

Langtang valley trekking is also called the valley of glaciers trek. Langtang is the closet place where you could get the massive snow capped mountains and beautiful glaciers. The whole valley is dominated by Mount Langtang Lirung (7246m)and offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy down and meadows. Langtang valley trekking you take around 8 hours drive from Kathmandu. The starting point of trekking is Syabru Bensi. From Syabru Bensi you will follow the Langtang River to the east until you get to Kyangin Gompa (3,049) with overnight stay at Lama Hotel, Langtang valley respectively. On the fourth day you will arrive at Langtang valley. In this valley besides natural wonders you also visit local Tibetan village and see their lifestyle. The last destination of this trekking is Kyanjin Gompa. You visit ancient Buddhist monastery and glaciers. Here you stay one more day on next day you get an opportunity to ascend Kyangjin Ri [4350m.]. From Kyangjin, you retrace your route back down the valley to Syabru Besi and then drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi(1460m)

Early in the morning, the guide will come to your hotel and you will be transferring to New Buspark to catch your transfer to Syabrubensi. It is a long day drive from Kathmandu and takes about 7-8 hours. The road condition is pretty bad in most places and requires your patience. We will be reaching Syabrubensi around 3 PM and the evening is free to walk around this small town.

Day 02: Trek from Shabrubeshi to Lama Hotel (2560m)

Today after breakfast our trekking starts the trail ascends for around two hours through the forest followed by a climb of about an hour to reach Bamboo village (1,850m) where you’ll stop for lunch. This forested path with well stabilized trails and following the upstream and can be seen birds life around the bushes. Bee hives hanging on a cliff are another attraction for the visitors. From here you will again steeply climb through the bamboo forest to reach the Lama Hotel (2560m) where you’ll rest and overnight at a local teahouse.

Day 03: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Valley (3455m)

Today we will have a pleasant walk and follow the trail through rhododendron and pine forest for around four hours to reach Ghoda Tabela where you will stop for lunch. This surrounding area dense wild habitat area and many small babblers with lot of herbal can be found here. After lunch you will walk another three hours on the scenic trail takes you to Langtang village (3455m) where we will O/n at lodge.

Day 04: Trek from Langtang Valley to Kyanjin Gompa(3817m)

After breakfast we will leave beautiful Langtang Village and start our trek leisurely for around three to four hours to visit Kyanjing Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is the last destination of our trekking at an altitude of 3817m from sea level. From here we will have beautiful views of Mt Ganchempo and Mt. Langtang Lirung.we will visit surrounding area like Yak cheese Factory, Kyanjin Monastery and local houses. O/n at lodge

Day 05: Explore around Kyanjin Gompa and climb to Tsego Ri (5150m)

Today we will explore around natural beauties of Kyanjin Gompa. In the morning as per clien interest our guide take you to climb Tsego Ri (5150m). Then visit Langtang glacier and Langshisha Kharka .We back to the same lodge at Kyanjin for a rest. O/n at lodge.

Day 06: Trek Kyanjin Gompa to Ghoda Tabela(3020m)

Today we will retrace your steps to Ghoda Tabela. The walking will be pleasant and scenic one. O/n at lodge.

Day 07:Trek back from Ghoda Tabela to Shabrubeshi(1460m)

Today we walk down to Syabrubeshi via Lama Hotel and Bamboo through previous rhododendron forest and along with Bhotekoshi river. O/n at lodge

Day 08: Drive Syabrubeshi to Kathmandu.

After breakfast catch a coach or Private jeep for Kathmandu ,After reach in Kathmandu, you will be taken to your hotel and free time, In evening you can stroll around Thamel, the major tourist destination of Kathmandu. You can do some last minute shopping of souvenirs for your family and relatives. O/n at hotel in Kathmandu.
