Overview

The Gokyo Ri Trek is one of the most scenic and less crowded trekking routes in the Everest region, leading trekkers to the stunning turquoise lakes of Gokyo Valley and the famous Gokyo Ri viewpoint. This trek offers a peaceful alternative to the classic Everest Base Camp route while still delivering spectacular Himalayan panoramas, glacier landscapes, and authentic Sherpa culture.

Starting with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the trail passes through Namche Bazaar before ascending into the beautiful Gokyo Valley. Trekkers explore the pristine Gokyo Lakes and climb Gokyo Ri (5,357 m), one of the best viewpoints in Nepal, offering breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu along with the massive Ngozumpa Glacier.
