This tour starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Zhangmu and then to Naylam passing through beautiful Nepalese countryside. Then the drive uphill takes us towards the highest plateau of the world amidst the unique landscapes, which gives us the feeling of standing on the roof of the world.
Day 01: Kathmandu to Nyalam (3,750m) -162kms.
We start early morning drive through the beautiful Nepalese countryside to Kodari. After completing Immigration and customs formalities, we continue drive up hill to Zhangmu (2,300m) through a beautiful gorge to Nyalam. You will meet your Tibetan guide at the check post and he will lead you to Lhasa. Overnight at Guest house/dormitory (B, B)
Day 02: Nyalam to Lhatse (4,350m) -220kms.
After breakfast, drive to the highest plateau of the world with typical landscape offering the absolute feeling of being on the roof of the world crossing over the 5,050 meters Lalunga pass, from where we can view the breathtaking mountain ranges of Mt.Cho Oyu (8,201m) Mt.Xishapagma (8,012m) and among others. If weather is clean then we can see the magnificent view of Mt. Everest (8,848m) from Tingri/ Lhatse. Overnight at guesthouse/ Dormitory (B, B)
Day 03: Lhatse to Xigatse (3,900m) - 244kms.
Drive from Lhatse to Xigatse via 5200 pass, TASILUMPO monastery visit, inside special attraction of future Buddha and different Panchen Lamas, about 800 monks living there. Overnight at guesthouse (B, B)
Day 04: Xigatse to Gyantse (3,950m) -90kms.
Today, we visit the Tashilunpo Monastery and the open market of Xigatse in the morning time. After getting lunch we start our short drive to Gyantse where you visit the Kumbum Stupa and Phalkot Monastery. Overnight at hotel /guesthouse (B, B)
Day 05: Gyantse to Lhasa (3650m) -259 kms.
This day, we have full day picturesque drive along the turquoise lake Yamdrok, crossing over Kampala Pass (4794M) and the Brahma Putra River. And after 8 hours long hours drive we will reach Lhasa. Over night at hotel (B, B)
Day 06/07: Lhasa sightseeing: Potala, Sera and Jokhang Temple.
These two days, you will be engaged with sightseeing of Lhasa including, Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple (the holiest of Tibetan shrines, houses two images of the Buddha brought as dowry by Songster Campo's Nepali and Chinese queens) along the bustling street of Barkhor Market. In Lhasa you will also visit Norbulinka (the summer palace of the Dalai Lamas), Drepung and Sera Monasteries. Overnight at hotel (B, B)
Day 08: Fly Lhasa to Kathmandu, one hour flight (1,300m)
Drive from Lhasa to airport (approximately two hours) and fly back to Nepal. The flight is of one hour 10 minutes and it is one of the most beautiful flights in the world. On your flight you can see the Yalung Tsangpo River, Lake Yamdruk, Kanchenjunga (8,586m/28,160ft), Makalu (8,463m/27,760ft) and Mt. Everest (8,848m).
